Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and [Company name] ("we") for the Ved service on WhatsApp and the website ved.chat. By messaging Ved or buying credits you accept them. If you don't agree, don't use Ved.
1. What Ved is
Ved is an astrology service. It calculates your Vedic birth chart from the birth details you give it and produces readings, compatibility scores, timing suggestions and alerts in the Parashari tradition of jyotish. Readings are produced by software, including an AI language model, from the calculated chart. Ved is not a human astrologer, and will tell you so if you ask.
2. What Ved is not
Astrology is a traditional practice, not a science, and readings are interpretation. Ved's readings are offered for guidance, reflection and cultural practice. They are not, and must not be relied on as, medical, psychological, legal, financial, immigration or safety advice, and they are not a prediction of fact. Do not make a decision about your health, your money, a marriage, a pregnancy, a job, or another person's welfare on the basis of a reading alone. If you are in crisis or in danger, contact local emergency services or a crisis line; Ved cannot help you in an emergency.
In particular, a compatibility score is a traditional calculation, not an assessment of any person or relationship, and it should never be the sole basis for deciding whether to marry or to end a relationship.
3. Who can use Ved
You must be 18 or older, able to enter a contract, and using a WhatsApp account that is yours. Ved is available where WhatsApp is available; some features (payments, languages) may differ by country.
4. Your birth details and other people's
You are responsible for the accuracy of the birth details you give. A wrong birth time changes a chart; if you don't know the time, say so and Ved will cast a sunrise chart and tell you what depends on it.
When you give Ved another person's birth details, you confirm that you have a reasonable basis to share them (for example, they are a family member or partner who would expect it, or they agreed), that you will not use Ved to harass, stalk or make decisions about a person without their knowledge in a way that harms them, and that you accept responsibility for that sharing. Details of a person under 18 may be shared only by their parent or guardian.
5. Credits and payment
- Your first readings are free. After that, readings cost credits as shown on ved.chat and in the chat before you are charged. Some kinds of reading cost more than others; Ved tells you when a reading costs more than one credit and asks before charging if you don't have enough.
- Credits are bought in bundles at the prices shown for your country. Prices include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Payments are handled by our payment processor under their terms; we don't see your card details.
- Credits are personal to your WhatsApp number, cannot be transferred, sold or exchanged for cash, and expire 24 months after purchase.
- Alerts, the daily line, follow-up questions within a reading, and the free items listed on ved.chat do not use credits.
- Refunds. Unused credits can be refunded on request within 14 days of purchase. Credits already spent on a reading are not refundable, because the reading has been delivered, except where a reading failed to arrive or was materially defective, in which case we refund or re-credit it. If you are in the UK or EU, you agree that readings begin immediately when you ask for them and acknowledge that you lose the right to cancel a reading once it has been delivered; the 14-day refund on unused credits is not affected. Nothing here limits refund rights you have under law.
- Referral and promotional credits have no cash value and may be withdrawn if obtained through abuse.
6. Messages from Ved
By starting a conversation you agree that Ved may reply and may message you first with alerts, a daily line and follow-ups, as described in the Privacy Policy. You can stop these at any time by telling Ved. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply.
7. Acceptable use
Don't use Ved to harass, threaten or defame anyone; to obtain readings about a person in order to harm them; to attempt to extract, copy or reverse-engineer our software, prompts or data; to send automated traffic; to impersonate someone else; or for anything unlawful. We may limit or end access for misuse.
8. Your content and ours
You own what you write to Ved and the birth details you provide. You give us permission to use them to run the service for you, as the Privacy Policy describes. Readings, chart images and cards Ved produces for you are yours to keep and share. Everything else about Ved, including its software, calculations, voice, name and design, belongs to us.
9. Availability and changes
We try to keep Ved available, but it depends on WhatsApp, our providers and the internet, and it may be slow or unavailable at times. We may change, add or remove features, and change prices for future purchases, with notice in the chat where the change matters to you. Credits already bought keep their value.
10. Limits on our liability
Ved is provided as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises about the accuracy, completeness or outcome of any reading, and we are not liable for decisions you take or don't take because of one, nor for indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability to you for anything arising from Ved is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights.
11. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Ved at any time, and can delete your account by telling Ved. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we discontinue the service, and in the latter case we will refund unused credits.
12. Disputes and law
If something goes wrong, email us first at hello@ved.chat; most things are fixed in a message. These terms are governed by the laws of [State], United States, and disputes will be heard in the courts there, except that if you are a consumer in the UK or EU you keep the protection of your local consumer law and may bring a claim in your local courts.
13. General
These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about Ved. If a part is found unenforceable the rest still applies. We may update these terms; the current version is always at ved.chat/terms, and Ved will tell you in the chat about changes that matter.
